Hamptons Beach House Paint Color Consultation

When a friend requested a color consultation for her new beach house, I was elated. My love of the sea is as great as my passion for color.  It was a fun project, and together we created magic.

Walls Benjamin Moore Minced Onion 2145-60

The architectural design of the house is brilliant.

Upon entering, you are immediately enchanted by the beauty of the boundless sea. Water is everywhere.

Walls Benjamin Moore Minced Onion 2145-60

Most rooms has a lavish view of the sea.  Spellbinding.

Walls Benjamin Moore Minced Onion 2145-60

The open plan, combined with continuous water-view windows, makes it feel like you're on a boat!

Benjamin Moore Minced Onion 2145-60

The wall colors were kept neutral in the main rooms.  The focus is the sea, sky, and scattered sea grass blowing in the wind.

Natural down to earth stone and rich woods anchor the home firmly into the ground.
(So no worries, the house can't float away.)

Walls Benjamin Moore Minced Onion 2145-60

The wall color for the kitchen, dining, living room, and main hallway is Minced Onion (2145-60) Benjamin Moore.

Keeping these rooms one color emphasizes the open floor plan, and does not disturb the serenity of the views.

Minced Onion is a beautiful color that looks much lighter in the mid day, when the home is drenched with white sunlight.   (These pictures were taken close to the golden sunset)

Walls Benjamin Moore Limesickle 2145-50

The den wall color is Limesickle (2145-50) Benjamin Moore.

(Of course the den has its own set of windows looking out to the water, not shown)

Here are some pictures of the outside. Wow.  Although the house jots into the sea, the colors can weather all seasons.

And below is my favorite ...  sea grass.  Nature surrounds the home.

The power of the salty sea is intoxicating, and delights our senses.

Love that red. The kitchen island is truly the heart of the home.

The stone backsplash adds warmth, depth, and stability.   The stone echoes the fireplace and stonewall in front of the house.

Walls Benjamin Moore Patriotic White 2135-70

Moving upstairs, you will find Benjamin Moore's Patriotic White (2135-70) on the walls.  A soft light blue.

As you enter the Master Bedroom, notice the green glowing out of the bath.

Walls Benjamin Moore Italian Ice Green 2035-70

Italian Ice Green (2035-70) Benjamin Moore paint adorns the wall.

This green gem of a bathroom is reminiscent of a seaweed wrap in a spa.  I wish I could take a bubble bath in that soaking tub every night!

Rich Cream 2153-60 on the bedroom walls is cheerful with the blue sea.

Walls Benjamin Moore Buxton Blue HC-149

Here is one of my favorite blues by Benjamin Moore, Buxton Blue HC-149.

Benjamin Moore historical colors colors are timeless.

Walls Benjamin Moore Yarmouth Blue HC-150

Another Benjamin Moore favorite color of mine, Yarmouth Blue (HC-150)  looks stunning in this bathroom with the marble.

Walls Benjamin Moore Ice Blue 2052-70 & Antiguan Sky 2040-60

Ice Blue (2052-70) above chair rail calms the vibrancy of Antiguan Sky (2040-60) below the chair rail.  Both Benjamin Moore.

Notice the orange highlight on the left wall from the sunset.

The colors in the home change constantly with the sun and tides.  Such a visual delight.

This shared Bathroom is in-between the bedroom above and below.  The inspiration for both bedroom colors came from the water hues of the tile floor.

Walls Blue Angel 2058-70 & Ocean Breeze 2058-60

Another splash of color brightens this bedroom. Above the rail is Blue Angel (2058-70),  below the rail is Ocean Breeze (2058-60). Both Benjamin Moore.

The Patriotic Blue color continues up the hallway and through the 3rd floor finished attic. (Of course all the windows on that floor all have fabulous views of the sea.)

Speaking of patriotic blue -  this ship (oh I mean home) would not be complete without a flag.

And I must end with my favorite,  sea grass blowing in the wind.

Captivating.
We all feel at home.
Down by the Sea.

  7. Paulette, the red is a custom color that was mixed on the job site.
Two of my favorite reds by Benjamin Moore are Cherry Wine 2080-30, and Moroccan Spice AF-285. They are beautiful colors.

What an absolutely gorgeous home! Wow! I found this while googling Buxton Blue which I plan on using today in my office. You did a fantastic job. This house is officially my new dream house--the kitchen! The tub! The fireplace! The windows! The floors! Wow...fantastic.

Debra C. here - first time here, and what a lovely, lovely website! A Benjamin Moore "Nuance" interview mentioned BMoore Thunder - I googled it, and there you were. Well-done, well-rendered photography. And congratulations on letting the colors of nature come forward instead of repeating blues and greens all over the house.

  13. Simply beautiful home and beautiful flawless colors! What color did you use on the outside shingles? Are they pre dipped by chance? Looking for something in the natural browns that is durable on the East Coast and that would look great with white trim?
